asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying new housing grants to persons (details supplied) in County Galway.

A grant of £1,000 was paid on 28 January 1980, to the first person mentioned.

In the second case, the application was received in my Department on 16 January 1980, and an inspection is being arranged with a view to the approval and payment of a new house grant of £1,000, if in order.

134.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a water grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Arrangements are being made for payment of a grant of £200 in this case as soon as possible. There has been no undue delay in dealing with the case.

135.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The completed application in this case was received in my Department on 14 January 1980. My Department's records showed, however, that a new house grant under the former scheme was paid in 1970 to a person who appeared to be the applicant's spouse. Further information was accordingly requested on 19 February 1980, and when this is received in my Department the application will be considered further.
