(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons for the delay in dealing with the revised design for the Doobally group water scheme, County Cavan, submitted to his Department on 12 September 1979, the date by which it will be cleared and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A revised design for this group water scheme was approved by Cavan County Council on 18 September 1979. On the basis of quotations received, the group, at a recent meeting, considered that the scheme would be far too expensive to construct and decided to abandon the scheme for the present.
