Vol. 318 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sewerage Schemes.

377.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the tender for the Courtmacsherry sewerage scheme, County Cork, accepted by Cork County Council and when sanction will issue to allow the scheme to proceed.

Tenders for the civil works and pumping plant contracts of the Courtmacsherry Sewerage Scheme, which were received in my Department on 1 February 1980, are under consideration. I am not as yet in a position to indicate when decisions will issue to the local authority thereon.

378.

asked the Minister for the Environment when Meath County Council's proposal for a sewerage scheme at Summerhill, County Meath, was received in his Department and when sanction will be given.

Working drawings for a sewerage scheme to serve the village of Summerhill submitted by Meath County Council on 31 January 1977 are under consideration in my Department. This scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for water and sewerage schemes, the large number of such schemes in progress or getting to construction at the present time and the need to conserve capital for schemes of the highest priority. I cannot say when I will be in a position to convey a decision thereon to the local authority.
