Vol. 318 No. 6

Written Answers. - Meath School for Disabled Children.

413.

asked the Minister for Health the amount of money (a) granted and (b) paid to the school for disabled children, Athlumney, Navan, County Meath in 1979, and the date of such payment.

The funding of this special school for moderately mentally handicapped children is primarily a matter for the Department of Education. My Department does not pay direct grants towards special schools but the North Eastern Health Board in 1979 approved and paid a total of £3,200 in capitation grants in respect of services of a health nature for the pupils of St. Marys Special School, Athlumney, Navan. These grants were paid on 1 July 1979.
