Written Answers. - County Cork Hospital Extensions.

asked the Minister for Health is his attention has been drawn to the tenders accepted for extensions to Bantry and Castletownbere Hospitals, County Cork and when sanction will issue for these extensions to proceed.

Bantry County Hospital

Tenders have not yet been invited by the Southern Health Board for the extensions at Bantry County Hospital. Technical details in relation to the planning of the project are at present under examination in the Department. A decision on the question of the invitation of tenders for this project will be taken when the planning has been finalised.

Castletownbere District Hospital

The Southern Health Board have forwarded proposals in relation to the tenders for the building of the extension at Castletownbere Hospital for my approval. A report on the tenders is being examined in my Department. I will convey my views on the tenders in due course.
