asked the Minister for Education (a) the number of pupils attending each secondary school in County Meath, (b) the number for which each school can reasonably cater, (c) the number of primary school pupils which it is estimated will be seeking secondary school accommodation in 1980, 1981 and (d) the estimated shortfall of places.

The number of primary pupils who will be seeking places in the above second level schools in 1980 is estimated at 1,488 and in 1981 it is estimated at 1,517.

It is not feasible to calculate a figure of total shortfall of places, if any, in 1981 at this stage as this figure would be affected by the circumstances of each individual school, that is, the number of places available and the number of applicants for admission to the school.
