Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

213.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin, if he will expedite this case in view of the proximity of an available telephone line, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Service will be provided within the next fortnight.

214.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reasons for the outstanding fault on the telephone line of a person (details supplied) in Dublin, and when it is proposed to carry out the necessary repairs in view of the severe implications for this person's business.

Service has been restored to the subscriber. The delay in carrying out repairs was due to the backlog of faults in the Dublin area arising from flood damage to cables. An appropriate rebate of rental is being allowed.

215.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Clare, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Terms are being quoted to the applicant. Service will be provided within three months or so of completion of an agreement.

216.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a transfer of telephone service will be effected for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who was assured this transfer would take place in September 1977, February 1979 and March 1979.

The Department have no record of having given the assurances referred to. Service will be provided when the cabling work, on which provision of service is dependent, is carried out later this year.
