The present proposal from the vocational education committee is not in accordance with the arrangement introduced when the small vocational schools in Tallow and Cappoquin were closed. That arrangement has been implemented to date through the supply by the VEC of a woodwork teacher to the CBS in Lismore and the convent in Cappoquin. The present proposal from the VEC has to be considered in the context of its possible impact on the staffing of the two secondary schools and the financial implications involved. A decision in relation to it will be expedited as much as possible.
