Written Answers. - St. Joseph's Primary School, Tullamore.

251.

asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the situation at St. Joseph's primary school, Arden Road, Tullamore, County Offaly, due to open on 21 April 1980 where there are over 500 pupils, 16 classrooms, a remedial room and an all-purpose room to be looked after, together with a heating system and play area, and to date, no caretaker has been appointed and if he has any plans to make such an appointment in the near future.

The question of the employment of a caretaker in the case of a national school is a matter in the first instance for the board of management. It would not be in accordance with normal practice that I should comment on the circumstances of individual schools other than to say that a copy of the relevant official circular has been made available to the board of management of St. Joseph's National School.
