Vol. 320 No. 5

Written Answers. - Official Visits Abroad.

205.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism if any of the cost was borne by the IDA or any other State or semi-State agency in respect of each of the journeys abroad indicated by him in reply to parliamentary question No. 351 on 4 March 1980 and, if so, the amount and agency involved in each case.

The Industrial Development Authority and Córas Tráchtála were involved in some of the journeys abroad referred to in the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 351 of 4 March 1980 when the purpose of the visit was trade or industrial promotion. Where a State or semi-State agency was involved in these visits the agency bore some of the cost as appropriate to it.

As expenditure of this nature is a matter of day-to-day administration of the bodies concerned, I have no details of the cost involved for them.
