Vol. 320 No. 5

Written Answers. - Killiney (Dublin) Estate.

206.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the failure of the developer to complete essential work at Killiney Heath, County Dublin, that the sum lodged with Dún Laoghaire Corporation of £1,400 is totally inadequate to complete the necessary work and if, in the circumstances, he will make a grant available to ensure that the work is completed.

I am aware of the problems which have arisen in this estate. I understand from Dún Laoghaire Corporation that they are at present endeavouring to trace the owner with a view to taking legal action to secure the proper completion of the estate.

Proposals are at present being considered to assist planning authorities to take in charge and complete those estates where insuperable problems have arisen in achieving their completion by the developer but until these proposals are finalised it is not possible to indicate whether assistance would be available in particular cases.
