Vol. 321 No. 1

Written Answers. - Greyhound Feeding Stuffs.

210.

andMr. P. Barry asked the Minister for Finance the cost of reducing the rate of value-added tax on greyhound feeding stuffs to that levied on feedstuffs for race horses.

Animal feeding stuff generally, other than dog and pet food, is not liable to VAT. Greyhound feeding stuff is not distinguished for VAT purposes from other dog food and is liable to VAT at the same rate, that is 25 per cent. The cost of removing VAT from all dog food is estimated to be £4 million in a full year.
