Vol. 321 No. 1

Written Answers. - Surplus Grain Disposal

230.

Mr. Walsh

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his attention has been drawn to the increase in barley acreage, the plans, if any, for the orderly disposal of expected surplus grain at a remunerative price to the farmer and if he will make a statement on the matter.

From the provisional estimates so far available the indications are that the barley acreage this year will not show any significant change. Firmer estimates are, however, expected in a week or so.
