Vol. 322 No. 2

Written Answers. - Child Income Tax Allowances.

302.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of 1980-81, the number of child income tax allowances; and the cost of these allowances in a full year.

Taking account of the budget reliefs, it is estimated at this stage that income tax child allowances will be claimed in respect of some 620,000 children at a cost to the Exchequer of about £40 million.
