Vol. 322 No. 5

Written Answers. - Unlicensed Bar Complaints.

343.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware of allegations regarding the activities of a club (details supplied) which runs dances on Friday and Sunday nights, without a bar licence, while operating a bar until 1.30 a.m. and if he will investigate the complaints from some members of the local community who have serious objections to this practice.

The only complaint received regarding the activities of the Army club in question, in which a bar is operated by an Army Mess on occasions when dances are being held at the club, is one of unfair competition made by the owner of a local restaurant and ballroom. The matter is being examined.
