asked the Minister for Finance the present position regarding the old county library in Tullamore, County Offaly; the name of the present owner; the proposals for the use of the building in the future and if there are any plans prepared for its use at present; if any of the items on this property are being sold; if so, to whom; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The old County Library premises in Tullamore is the property of Offaly County Council. The Commissioners of Public Works have agreed terms with the county council for the purchase by the commissioners of the property. It is proposed to erect Government offices on the site to accommodate the staffs of Departments in the area. The planning of the offices will be undertaken when the acquisition is completed.
