: Following representations from the Art Education Association, Conference of Convent Secondary Schools, my Department considered the question of holding all the certificate examinations in art in the month of May.
The Teachers Union of Ireland, the Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland, the Joint Managerial Body and the Irish Vocational Education Association were consulted in the matter. Agreement was not forthcoming, however, for the introduction of such a change in the arrangements in respect of the examinations for 1981. It is not proposed, accordingly, to make any alteration in the normal arrangements in 1981.
