asked the Minister for Health if he will list the number of advisory bodies set up by his Department and give details of the activities of these bodies and the budgetary provisions for each of them.

As the answer is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report. Following is the information sought:

Comhairle na Nimheanna (Poisons Council)

Advice to the Minister for Health and the Minister for Agriculture on matters relating to poisons and to any regulations made under the Poisons Act 1961.

£300 (travelling and subsistence expenses)

Food Advisory Committee

Advice to the Minister for Health on matters relating to the composition, description, manufacture, processing, labelling and advertising of food.

£5,000

National Drugs Advisory Board

Advice to the Minister in relation to the licensing of the manufacture, importation and sale of drugs.

£230,000 financed from the Hospitals Trust Fund.

Joint Services Committee on Zoonsee.

Advice to the Minister for Health and the Minister for Agriculture in relation to animal transmitted diseases.

£700 shared with the Department of Agriculture.

Therapeutic Substances Advisory Committee.

Advises and assists the Minister for Health in the making of orders or regulations under the Therapeutic Substances Act, 1932

No expenditure is incurred.
