(1) The information regarding rates on land relates to land in county health districts and is based on returns furnished by local authorities. No precise information is available regarding the valuation of farm buildings; the figures given in the table are rough estimates made in the Department.
(2) Under the provisions of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act, 1978, rates on farm buildings erected before 1 March 1959 and rates on all domestic property have been abolished with effect from 1 January 1978. Farm buildings erected after 1 March 1959 had been derated previously.
