Vol. 325 No. 2

Written Answers. - Athlone National School

275.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the provision of a new national school at Cornafulla, Athlone, County Roscommon.

The bill of quantities for the proposed new school at Cornafulla, County Roscommon, is under examination by the Commissioners of Public Works.

I understand that evidence of title to the site extension has been submitted to the Land Registry and is being attended to in that office.

276.

asked the Minister for Education if he has any proposals for legislation to provide for the registration of architects.

An EEC directive on legislation regulating and registering the practice of architecture has been the subject of discusions for many years. Following the meeting of national experts on 22 July 1980 which ended in deadlock, further consideration of the matter has been adjourned. The question of legislation many in due course need to be considered in connection with proposals in this regard from the E.E.C.
