Vol. 325 No. 2

Written Answers. - ESB Dispute.

274.

asked the Minister for Labour if he is aware of a dispute by employees of the ESB in certain areas throughout the country and of hardships incurred by a large number of people arising from this dispute because of the inability to have current connected to their houses; and, if so, the steps he now proposes to take to have the dispute resolved.

I assume the Deputy is referring to the dispute involving a small number of engineering assistants employed by the board which has been affecting some districts. Proposals for settlement of the dispute will be balloted on by the workers concerned this week and the result should be known next week.
