Vol. 325 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Attendance Officers Dispute.

278.

asked the Minister for Education whether he recently met, or refused to meet, a deputation from the School Attendance Officers Association or representatives of the School Attendance Department of Dublin Corporation; if he is aware of an industrial dispute at present affecting that Department; if he will take urgent steps to have this dispute solved as soon as possible; and if he will now meet a deputation from the association.

I received requests from representatives of the school attendance officers for a meeting to discuss a claim for an increase in salary.

Discussion of this claim has already been initiated within the framework of ad hoc conciliation and arbitration machinery and in the circumstances I consider that I am precluded from receiving a deputation in relation to it.
