Vol. 325 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Contraceptives Price.

3.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism if he intends fixing a maximum price for contraceptives.

It is not proposed at present to fix a maximum price for contraceptives.

Would the Minister not agree in regard to this very important service, which according to the Supreme Court should be made reasonably easily available to people, that obviously if the price is not kept within reasonable limits it could make it difficult for the very people who need it most, poor people, to have access to effective contraceptive methods?

The position at present is as I have stated.

Does the Minister intend to review it?

I have stated the position at present.
