asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he proposes to grant the necessary resources to allow the North City Centre Community Action Project to continue in view of the intensive work which has been done in the major areas of social equality in the north inner city under this project in the last 2½ years, and, if not, the proposals he has to supplement this loss.

An examination of the Final Report of the National Committee on Pilot Schemes to Combat Poverty is being carried out in my Department and when completed I will be considering what further action should be taken.
This may result in a continuance of some parts of the former committee's projects but I cannot be more specific than this pending the outcome of the examination.
