Vol. 326 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

448.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin; and the present stage of the application.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the work is eligible for a grant and has been satisfactorily completed. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

449.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a grant in respect of a fire-place and chimney will be paid to a person (details supplied) in the south Dublin area.

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 160 of 3 June 1980. The position remains unchanged.

450.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in south County Dublin will receive payment in respect of his application for a grant for central heating.

The grant was paid on 21 January 1981.

451.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in Cork; and when payment will be made.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. A grant will be paid very shortly.

452.

asked the Minister for the Environment why an old-type new house grant was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath in view of the fact that the local authority are paying him their portion of the grant.

An inspection carried out in July 1978 revealed that the house in question had not been built in accordance with the plan submitted by the applicant. He has been asked on two occasions since then to furnish a plan of the house as built, the date of commencement of the work, and the name of the builder, but he has failed to do so. When he does so, his eligibility for a grant will be examined. The local authority has not allocated a supplementary grant.
