Vol. 326 No. 1

Written Answers. - Deceased Longford Teacher's Salary Arrears.

315.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in paying arrears of salary due to the estate of a deceased teacher (details supplied) in Longford notwithstanding that letters of administration for his estate were sent to his Department on 19 May 1980 and that subsequent reminders were sent on 30 July and 8 September.

The death gratuity in this case was paid in June 1980. The arrears in salary were paid on 21 January 1981. The delay in the payment of the arrears of salary, which was due to exceptional causes, is regretted.
