Vol. 326 No. 3

Written Answers. - Coast Protection Provision.

29.

asked the Minister for Finance how and why the provision for coast protection in the Vote for the Office of Public Works is being reduced by £27,000.

The provision of £197,000 for coast protection works in 1981 is considered adequate by the Commissioners of Public Works. The amount of £225,000 provided for coast protection works in 1980 allowed for exceptionally heavy expenditure in maintenance of completed schemes which it is anticipated will not be repeated in 1981.
