Vol. 326 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Donegal Pier.

33.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has been made aware of the collapse of the new pier head at Moville, County Donegal; if, in view of the serious questions which this major fault and obvious weakness in design and construction raise about the remainder of the pier and all other piers built in the Republic in the recent past, he will have the matter of design and construction of the Moville pier and all other piers investigated; if he will make a statement setting out the action he proposes to take; and if he will indicate when the Moville pier will be reconstructed.

The Commissioners of Public Works are investigating the cause of damage to part of the pier at Moville. Pending completion of these investigations I am not in a position to say what action will be taken in the matter.
