Vol. 326 No. 4

Written Answers. - Mayo Primary School.

209.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state in regard to the provision of a new primary school at Snugboro, Castlebar, County Mayo (i) if his Department have made a decision regarding the approval of the site (ii) if planning permission has yet been sought (iii) the level of grant aid to be given by his department and (iv) when a contractor is likely to be appointed.

A report by the Commissioners of Public Works on the site offered for the proposed new primary school at Snugboro, County Mayo, is under consideration at present. The question of seeking planning permission does not arise pending a decision on the suitability of the site.

The manner of grant-aid will be considered when an estimate of cost, based on approved sketchplans, is available. It would not be in accordance with normal practice to state the level of grant aid in the case of an individual school.

It is not possible to indicate at this stage when a contractor for the building may be appointed.
