Having regard to the need to conserve available capital for schemes of higher priority such as Ennistymon / Lahinch / Liscannor and Kildysart / Labasheeda Water Supply schemes and Ennis Main Drainage Scheme it is not possible at present to indicate when decisions can be conveyed to the local authority on the schemes for which contract documents and preliminary reports are under consideration in the Department.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the Doonbeg sewerage scheme will be included in the 1981 approvals.

asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which Clare County Council submitted the Doonbeg sewerage scheme for approval; if he intends to sanction the scheme this year; and the date on which sanction will be forthcoming.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to answer Questions Nos. 260 and 261 together.
Preliminary proposals for Doonbeg sewerage scheme, submitted in April 1976, are at present under consideration in my Department. The local authority's proposals for this scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for the overall water and sewerage programme, the number of schemes in progress or getting to construction at the present time and the need to conserve capital for schemes of the highest priority. I cannot at present say when I will be in a position to convey a decision on the local authority's preliminary proposals for this scheme.

asked the Minister for the Environment the progress made to date concerning the provision of a proper sewerage scheme at Paulstown, County Kilkenny.
In November, 1979 Kilkenny County Council were advised that their proposals for Paulstown Sewerage scheme should be revised. A report on the outcome of this review was submitted to my Department on 12 December 1980, and is under examination. The submission of further documentation, required in connection with this examination is awaited.
