Written Answers. - Grants Payment.

263.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of the £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in south west Cork; and when payment can be expected.

There has been no delay in my Department in dealing with this case. When the applicant replies to my Department's letter of 4 March 1980 asking the date on which the foundations of the home were poured, an inspection will be arranged with a view to approval and payment of a grant, if in order.

264.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin; and the reason for the delay in payment.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

265.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

Any delay in this case is due to the inability of the inspector to gain access to the house on two occasions. In June 1980 the applicant was requested to arrange a specific date for inspection but to date no reply has been received. When an appointment is arranged, an inspection will be carried out with a view to payment of a grant if in order.

266.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

Any delay in this case has been due to the huge number of applications being processed in my Department.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the proposed work is eligible for a grant and has been satisfactorily completed. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

267.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

Any delay in this case has been due to the huge number of applications being processed in my Department. A reconstruction grant of £600 was paid to the person named on 19 January 1981.

268.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

Any delay in processing this case arose from the need to confirm that an application for a grant had not been made to Roinn na Gaeltachta, as the house is located in a Gaeltacht area. This matter has now been resolved and an inspection has been arranged with a view to payment of a grant, if in order. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
