Vol. 326 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Bridge.

13.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that the bridge across Knockmaroon Hill which is an integral part of the residential and day special school for educationally handicapped children at Glenmaroon, Chapelizod, County Dublin is allegedly in an extremely dangerous condition; and the action his Department propose to take in relation to this matter.

I am aware of the situation in regard to this bridge. In consultation with my colleague, the Minister for the Environment, I have set in train arrangements for the erection of appropriate signs by Dublin County Council on the approaches to Knockmaroon Hill. The purpose of these signs will be to prohibit certain heavy duty vehicles, of the type which have been causing damage to the bridge, from using the road.
