Vol. 326 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Galway Land Vesting.

157.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in vesting land in a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The land in question comprises part of a former commonage which has been divided on the ground by the Land Commission. Vesting of the defined plots allotted on the division of the commonage will be effected by a composite vesting order pursuant to section 17 of the Land Act, 1953, which will also serve to complete the exchange of land involved in the division. At present there are certain technical difficulties to be settled before the vesting order can be made and these are being dealt with as quickly as possible. In the meantime a certificate of the tenure under which a shareholder holds a defined part of the former commonage will be furnished to him on request.
