Vol. 326 No. 9

Written Answers. - Departmental Travel Expenses.

146.

asked the Minister for Finance if any upward adjustment in the Estimate provision for travelling expenses by various Departments will be made in the light of the increases in petrol prices announced in the budget.

Travelling expenses, including motor mileage allowances, of public servants are reviewed annually in accordance with procedures agreed with relevant staff interests. The estimates provisions for travelling expenses are cash allocations intended to cover, inter alia, any additional expenditure arising from these annual reviews.
