Vol. 326 No. 11

Written Answers. - Post Office Trainee Installer.

219.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will indicate the following in relation to recent appointments for positions as trainee installers within his Department in the Galway district with particular reference to the Castlebar/Claremorris areas: (i) the number of applicants who applied initially; (ii) the number interviewed; (iii) the number who were successful at the interview; (iv) the number actually called to work at present; (v) the number who passed the interview, medical test and had suitable cross-references who have not been called for employment to date; (vi) when those who have been successful in all three tests and who have not yet been called will commence employment and (vii) if employment will be available to such applicants within the Galway Post Office engineering district.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have circulated with the Official Report.
