Vol. 326 No. 11

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

211.

(Dublin South-Central): asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he intends to erect a telephone exchange in Walkinstown, Dublin 12; and if he has any plans to provide temporary exchange facilities there.

Further permanent development in the Walkinstown exchange area will be met mainly by a new exchange in Crumlin. A suitable site is being acquired and provided no unforeseen difficulties are encountered the new exchange should be in service in 1983.

To meet requirements in the meantime, mobile exchanges will be installed on the Crumlin site. The first of these will be installed about July next and a second one in October, while a further one will be provided next year. Arrangements have also been made to meet immediate priority demand in the area from Tallaght exchange in so far as the local cabling position permits.
