There is no record in my Department of the receipt of any application for a housing grant from the person named. If he has had any correspondence from the Department on the subject, he should submit copies so that the matter can be further investigated.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Cavan applied for a home improvement grant in respect of a house at Lisdonnan, Knockbride, County Cavan; if so, the date; whether a grant has been allocated; if so, whether the work has been inspected to date; if not, when it will be inspected and the grant paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The person named has applied for a house improvement grant. However, further information on the case is not available as the file is with my Department's local inspector. A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the work has been satisfactorily completed and is eligible for a grant. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which a person (details supplied) in County Cavan applied for a home improvement grant; the date on which it was approved; if he is aware that the work has been completed; whether it has been inspected to date; and when the grant will be paid and the amount thereof.
My Department have been notified that work has been completed in this case. As the file is with the local inspector, the other information requested by the Deputy is not available. A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that work has been satisfactorily completed and is eligible for a grant. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
