Vol. 326 No. 11

Written Answers. - Limerick Sewerage Schemes.

380.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number and location of all sewerage schemes submitted to date to his Department by Limerick County Council; the number and location of schemes sanctioned in 1980; and when he proposes to sanction the remaining schemes.

The following is the position of sewerage schemes in County Limerick at present before my Department:

Name of Scheme

Present Position

1. Abbeyfeale Sewerage Scheme.

Contract Documents under consideration.

2. Adare Sewerage Improvements

Preliminary proposals under consideration.

3. Askeaton Sewerage Scheme

Preliminary Report being examined.

4. Croom Sewerage Scheme

Contract documents under consideration.

5. Kilmallock Sewerage Scheme.

Preliminary proposals under consideration.

6. Kilmeedy Sewerage Scheme

Contract documents under consideration.

7. Patrickswell Sewerage Scheme.

Revised preliminary proposals being prepared by Limerick County Council.

Preliminary proposals for the Foynes Sewerage Scheme were approved on the 19 August 1980.

Having regard to the need to conserve available capital for schemes of the highest priority and to the volume of works at present in progress in the County (including Ballingarry, Kilteely and Mountcollins Sewerage schemes, Abbeyfeale, Askeaton and Shannon Estuary South Shore Water Supply schemes) it is not possible at present to indicate when decisions can be conveyed to the local authority on the schemes for which contract documents and preliminary proposals are under consideration by my Department.
