Vol. 326 No. 12

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take item No. 5 (resumed).

I wish to give notice of my intention to raise on the Adjournment the subject matter of question No. 1 of 14 February relating to Government policy on the possible taking over by the private sector of elements of what are now public services.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

Is the Taoiseach aware of the acute problem in relation to the payment of social welfare benefits in Dublin?

That does not arise.

People are without money in my constituency.

That is not in order.

Will the Taoiseach allow time for debate on it today in view of the urgency of the matter?

It is not in order on the Order of Business.

It is not confined to Dublin.

It arises in every county in the country.

Deputy Keating to resume on the budget.

On a point of order, can I ask your advice, Sir, on how to raise a matter of very urgent importance. There are people literally starving in my constituency.

The Deputy is making a speech.

I am asking how I can raise this matter. What will the Government do about it?

The Deputy can discuss the matter with my officials.

There are people starving in my constituency. They have not received money for many weeks.

Please sit down, Deputy. Deputy Keating on the budget.

Deputy Deasy is the name.

I am sorry, Deputy Deasy.

(Interruptions.)

Cheap politicians, that is what you are.
