Vol. 327 No. 1

Written Answers. - Disability Benefit.

150.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the nonpayment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment will be made.

The person concerned has been paid all disability benefit due from 15 January 1981, fourth day of incapacity, to 9 February 1981, date of the latest medical evidence received. A claim form has been sent to him and on its return, duly completed, any increase in benefit due in respect of dependants will be made.

Payment of benefit was delayed as he quoted his RSI number only on the initial medical certificate received in my Department. It was necessary to obtain his record of insurance under his social insurance number before payment of benefit could be authorised.

The question of his entitlement to pay-related benefit is being investigated and payment, if any, due will be made on completion of inquiries.
