The amount of subsidy paid by my Department for local authority houses in the period from 1977 to 1980 was as follows: 1977, £30,650,970; 1978, £44,849,960; 1979, £52,122,853; 1980, £61,803,628. Provision has been made for payment of £62,193,000 subsidy in the current year.
