asked the Minister for the Environment the average length of time it takes to process applications for certificates of reasonable value in respect of new houses.

During 1980 the average time which elapsed between the receipt of properly documented applications for certificates of reasonable value and the issue of decisions was 13 days. In January 1981 the corresponding time was 11 days.

341.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of refusals of applications for certificates of reasonable value in respect of new houses that have been issued by his Department since the introduction of new regulations in October last under section 18 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979.

Since the bringing into operation of section 18 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979 and the Housing Regulations, 1980 on 26 September 1980 seven applications for certificates of reasonable value have been refused.
