I understand that because of a recent industrial dispute some temporary and unavoidable delay occurred in the issue by the company concerned of certificates of insurance under the Road Traffic Acts. The company's normal practice is to issue such certificates immediately on payment of premiums at any one of their offices, or to do so within about a week where the payment is made by post.
The enforcement of the law relating to the licensing of motor vehicles is a matter for the Garda authorities and it would not be appropriate for me to intervene in the manner suggested by the Deputy.
