Vol. 327 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

302.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the outstanding grant of £300 for water and sewerage facilities will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The grant of £350 will be paid shortly.

303.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state in respect of a solid fuel conversion heating (boiler) grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon, how the sum of approximately £240 was calculated; whether this was the maximum payable in the circumstances; and if he will consider increasing the grant in view of the cost of this particular conversion.

A grant of £364 (not £240) was paid in this case. The grant amounted to two-thirds of the reasonable cost of the eligible works, as estimated by my Department's inspector having regard to the Department's schedule of prices for grant-aided works. In the circumstances no increase in the grant is warranted.
