Vol. 327 No. 5

Written Answers. - Galway Autistic Unit.

19.

asked the Minister for Health if he has received an application from the western branch of the Irish Society for Autistic Children for financial assistance towards the cost of constructing a unit in Galway city; and, if so, when a decision will be made on the matter.

In December last I received a request from the Western Health Board, on behalf of the western branch of the Irish Society for Autistic Children, seeking capital grant assistance towards the construction of a special unit for autistic children in Galway. Certain aspects of the proposal are in the process of being clarified with the health board. When they have been clarified, I will consider the request for a grant.
