asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a reconstruction grant which is overdue and which has been approved for months to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and the date payment will issue.

There has been no delay in the Department in dealing with his case. An inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant when the applicant notifies my Department that the work has been completed.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a reconstruction grant which is long overdue to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and when payment will issue.

There has been no delay on the part of the Department in dealing with this case. An inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order, when the applicant notifies my Department that the work has been completed.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a reconstruction grant which is long overdue to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and when payment will issue.

The delay in this case has been due partly to necessity to get the approval of Kilkenny County Council to the location of the septic tank and partly to the large number of applications being processed in my Department. The grant will be paid if an inspection, to be carried out shortly, establishes that work has been satisfactorily completed.

285.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the long delay in the payment of a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and when payment will issue.

The papers in this case are with my Department's inspector for certification of payment of a grant, if in order. Accordingly, I am not in a position to comment on what delay, if any, occurred.

286.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and when payment will issue.

In accordance with Article 17 (1) of the Housing Regulations, 1980, a grant for the provision of additional rooms could not be allowed in this case, as the statutory minimum period of five years had not elapsed between the payment of a previous grant in respect of the house and the date of commencement of the improvement works. The delay in notifying this decision to applicant has been due to the large number of applications being processed in my Department. Arrangements are being made, however, for the payment of a grant of £200 to the applicant in respect of the installation of a piped water supply in his house.

287.

asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

This grant was paid on 8 January 1981.

288.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a solid fuel grant in respect of a back boiler will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The solid fuel grant scheme applies only to private dwellings. As the appliance in this case was installed in a lounge bar a grant cannot be allowed. The applicant was so informed by the Department on 15 September 1980.

289.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a final inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in respect of a reconstruction grant.

In accordance with Article 17 (1) of the Housing Regulations, 1980, a grant for the provision of additional rooms could not be allowed in this case as the statutory minimum period of five years had not elapsed between the payment of a new house grant in respect of the house and the date of commencement of the improvement works. The applicant was so informed in August 1978.

290.

asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

There is no record in my Department of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named. He has, however, submitted an application for a new house grant. The application cannot be processed further until he submits a specification, as the details set out on the house plans are illegible. He has been asked to do this on three occasions.

291.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons for the very long delay in the payment of a house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

Any delay in this case had been due to the large number of applications being processed in my Department.

A house improvement grant will be paid if an inspection establishes that the work has been satisfactorily completed and qualifies for a grant. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

292.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

The grant will be paid shortly.

293.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons for the very long delay in the payment of a house improvement grant to reduce dependence on oil to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

There was no delay in dealing with this case. The grant was paid on 10 October 1980.
