Vol. 327 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin Road Maintenance.

231.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether any funds have been made available by his Department this year for the maintenance and repair of Greentrees Road, Dublin; and, if so, when the necessary work will be carried out.

As the road referred to in the question is not classified as a national road, the cost of maintenance and repair works on it fall to be met from the resources of the road authority, supplemented by the annual block grant allocated by me. The timing and execution of works in the road are matters wholly within the discretion of the council and I am not in a position to say when works might be carried out.

This morning I gave notice that I wished to raise a general question on the adjournment. As well as that, I give notice that I wish to raise on the adjournment the subject matter of Question No. 24 on today's Order Paper and related matters.

I will communicate with the Deputy.
