Vol. 327 No. 6

Written Answers. - Proposed County Donegal Factory.

183.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism the up-to-date position regarding the proposed new factory for Finner, Ballyshannon, County Donegal.

Subsequent to the announcement that the Industrial Development Authority was prepared to make grants available for the establishment of a project to manufacture polyester-cotton yarns in Ballyshannon, the promoters indicated that they were reviewing the project in the light of the prevailing economic circumstances. The promoters now consider that the project cannot be developed on the basis originally envisaged. They are, however, examining with the IDA whether a basis can be found on which the project, with certain revisions, could proceed.
