Vol. 327 No. 6

Written Answers. - New Schools.

216.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make funds available immediately to build the new national school at Dublin Hill, Ballyvolane, Cork city.

A grant has been sanctioned for the new national school which is to be built in the Dublin Hill-Ballyvolane area of Cork city and the Commissioners of Public Works have been authorised to allow the project to proceed to the invitation of tenders.

217.

asked the Minister for Education if he has approved (a) the Bray School Project's proposed patron for their multi-denominational school and (b) the proposed temporary premises for the school which is due to open in September, 1981; and if he will take all necessary steps to ensure that the school opens on schedule.

The proposals before my Department in relation to the patron of the school referred to involve the incorporation of the Bray School Project as a company under the Companies Acts, 1963 to 1977. Until such incorporation is complete, and subject to compliance with specified conditions with regard to indemnification. I shall not be in a position to consider approval of the patron.

Information requested from the Bray School Project Association at a meeting in my Department on 22 December 1980 in relation to the premises proposed for the purpose of temporary accommodation is awaited.
