asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in the payment of a farm modernisation grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The applicant is classified as a development farmer and is therefore required to keep farm accounts for each year of his plan. Payment of the grant cannot be made until applicant furnishes evidence that he is complying with this requirement.

Part only of this herdowner's 1980 cattle headage grant was paid pending clarification of the forage area of his farm. The herdowner's entitlement to the full grant has now been established and the balance due will be paid within the next few days.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry has not been paid a sheep subsidy.

Payment was made in this case on 25 February.
